Before Circles, Kayla and her husband felt defeated and beaten down by life. They struggled due to a lack of community support and financial knowledge. Years earlier, they had lost their home due to complications with childbirth, and Kayla’s inability to work coupled with her husband’s layoff. Even after getting back on their feet, they continued to struggle. Kayla’s Ally used her social capital to help her husband get a better job that allowed him to build a career and spend ample time with his family. Kayla started working for Circles as the marketing director and obtained her Social Media Marketing Certificate while in the program. She learned to trust and lean on the community, which she couldn’t do before. Kayla is eager to give back the love and support she received during her time as a leader with Circles.
